Interesting Theology in a Country Tune

The chorus of the country song, "I Don't Want to Hang out with Me" (Confederate Railroad) reminds me of Paul's words in Romans 7...

21-24 So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am!

Lyrics by Confederate Railroad
I don't want to hang out with me.
I gotta find some new company.
People wouldn't think momma raised me wrong.
If I could only leave myself at home.

No, I don't wanna be my friend.
Can't nobody talk to him.
He just ain't the guy I thought I'd be.
No, I don't want to hang out with me.
Who will rescue me from this body of death?

Paul's response is...

Romans 7:25
Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
